Try food with no grain or by-products. Innova or Innova EVO or Taste of The Wild are great choices for this.
P.S. Broughten doesn’t make sense
It’s Taken.
HealthWise.
it is great for sensitive tummies! i have a German Shepherd who would get Diahreah and puke at all foods. but this one worked well and now he is happy and healthy!
Try a top end brand like Iams or Max, which usually has a special kind for digestive health (in my case, it’s hairball care, LOL). You can find both at PetSmart
We use Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Stomach. They make it for adult dogs, puppies and small dogs. My dog loves it! You can get it at petco or petsmart. I tried to wean him off once to a cheaper Hill’s and big mistake. he needed to go to the bathroom alot more. So we switched him back to sensitive stomach.
You will have to determine if your dog has an allergy to something in his food, or if he just can’t tolerate something. I think the first thing you need to do is put your dog on a food that has a novel protein, and no grain.
Most dogs are allergic to grains(because they are not suppose to have them, no matter the quality, their stomachs and intestines are not designed for this) and are allergic to chicken, beef, and turkey.
I would go with Ziwi Peak, the Venison version first, it uses Venison as the novel protein(venison meat 65%, Venison Liver, Venison Tripe, Venison Heart and Venison Kidney 19.5% Chicory Syrup(helps with food digestion and upset stomach), Green-lipped and Blue Mussel 4% Fish Oil, Lecithin, Kelp, Vitamins and Minerals, Parsley, Naturally preserved with mixed tocopherols, additives: Vit. D3 592 IU/kg, Vit. E 7.4mg/kg, Copper (copper proteinate) 9.8mg/kg. Calories 1794 KJ/100g.
I would also put your dog on Prozyme, it will help your dog break down the food better, and help with the upset stomach, diarreha, and throwing up. There are other types of food out there, but, the problem is most of them do not have enough meat content, and will help short term, but the long term risks are not good.
I had a friend that had a bulldog with a similar problem. I believe he switched foods to Science Diet. They have a food especially for sensitive stomachs. He also started giving his dog a vitamin supplement. I’m not sure which one worked, but he seemed much better after both.
I think you should check for some highly digestive dog foods like one over here >>>
Remember that protein, ideally, according to an experienced specialist in animal nutrition, should be listed as at least 30 percent. Keep in mind that dogs utilize fat well and some nutrition specialists think that at least 18 percent is ideal.
