Jackie G asked:

We have a Shi Tsu and recently got another Shi Tsu. Ever since the new dog came we have this horrible odor coming from both dogs. Help! We are gagging!
I appreciate the advice telling me to give our dogs a bath. If I was that stupid, I probably couldn’t work the computer.

Have your given them a bath?? Have you checked to see if they need to have their teeth cleaned?? Did they find some poo-poo to roll around in(its a dog thing) Iol, if you can’t find a reasonable reason for an odor then you need to take them to the vet to be checked.

Dogs love to roll in smelly things, its to disguise their own odor. Is there anything in your backyard or house that could attribute to it? Also, give them baths more frequently. If that doesn’t work, see a vet.

Congrads on your new addition! Could be a few reasons. May be they just need a good washing. May be someone has a ear infection, skin infection, their faces need to be cleaned, or the grossest one, one or both of them need their **** glands expressed. Try and figure out where the smell is coming from and most likely you will find one of the above reasons is the cause. A simple trip to the vet or your local petsmart or groomer can help you. Good luck!

take them to the vet. really! if they smell that bad then something is wrong. It could be that one has a dental problem and spreads that “infection smell” when they lick themselves or they could have a bacterial infection on the skin, yeast infection in the ears or yeast infection of the skin. I had a cocker that got yeast infections on the skin and the infections were caused by thyroid problems. Please do not waste your time and money on worthless shampoos and treatments from any store. Take the dogs to the vet and find out the specific cause so you can get the right treatment.
